One of the keynotes that I’m particularly fond of is based on my year travelling with the group Up with People.

Up with People in 332 days- Lessons in Teamwork, Leadership and Self-Discovery

I’m 19 years old.  I’ve never been away from home. And I’m about to embark on a personal and physical journey that I could never have planned for.

I am leaving home to travel the world for a year with 150 other students representing 24 different countries. 

By the end of my journey, I will end up living with host families in Turkey, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, the United States and The Netherlands.

There were challenges, language, cultural and communication differences being amongst some of the most profound. But what I learned about teamwork, leadership, philanthropy and perhaps most importantly, self-discovery was irreplaceable.

This keynote is based on my year travelling with the international touring/community service group Up with People. Through travel and cultural immersion, Up with People provides students with an international education and a passageway to see the world.

With a backdrop of images from my travels, lessons learned, song and practical advice, this session guarantees to get you thinking!
